The Association of Catholic Priests has told the Irish Central that they will back Irish priests who chose not to disclose sexual abuse they learn of during confession. Ireland's Justice Minister Alan Shatter has proposed legislation that will make it illegal for priest to withhold information about sexual abuse.

The 800 strong Association of
Catholic Priests has even told the Irish Independent newspaper that its members will flout the Shatter law.
